Abstract

Se describe una nueva colonia de nidi? cación para el albatros de ceja negra (Thalassarche melanophrys) en la región de Magallanes, Chile. La colonia estaba localizada en el islote Leonard (55° 23' S 74°04' W) conteniendo una población de 594 parejas nidi? cantes. También se midieron algunos huevos y se hacen comentarios en otras colonias mencionadas en la literatura como en las islas Evout y Noir. El número aproximado de parejas para Chile asciende a 49.142 parejas un 34,8% más alto de lo estimado por Gales (1998) y un 42% mas bajo de lo estimado por Clark (1992).
